The Hanukkah Song

Description:Something that's pretty important to us here at ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ is to make sure our card-making festivities include EVERYONE who is special to us, whatever occasion or holiday in which they partake!

So this fortnight we're making cards for our friends who don't necessarily celebrate Christmas. Hanukkah is perhaps the most famous of the other winter holidays, and it (plus our favorite Adam Sandler song!) inspired our title, but you could choose Kwanzaa, New Year, Hogmanay or Solstice; or you could go totally non-denominational with a general winter-themed card.

Stephanie says, "I started with this peaceful Penny Black Starry Night Stickeroo and built my Hanukkah card around it with a few more sticker sentiments and sticker letters too.  I die cut some metallic silver into an oblong octagon and then die cut some Swirling Stars.  I finished with a wrap of ribbon and a few sprinkled gems."

Lauren says, "I had an awesome new-to-me Hero Arts Happy Hanukkah stamp set to inspire me this week; but truly, I've made plenty of Hanukkah cards through the years which just used blue and silver patterned paper, and candles made from strips of patterned paper or washi tape! My dreamy background layer is watercolor paper, sprinkled with various blue shades of ColorBurst and spritzed; the multicolored layer further back is an alcohol ink experiment that did not come out as i intended, but was too pretty to throw away, lol. By the way, Eyelet Outlet Tear Drop Bling makes outstanding menorah flames... just sayin'...

We've got a fun little prize this time for one lucky, randomly selected, cardmaker who links up with us. It's some Hero Arts woodmount Hanukkah stamps and beautiful Eyelet Outlet Bling in silver, blue and white!
♥♥♥

Link up as many brand new, non-Christmas, winter holiday cards as you like by 6pm (EST) on Wednesday, October 9th. Keyword for galleries and Flickr is JB:19:20.

Peace and Love

Many thanks to everyone who gave PEACE a chance this fortnight, it definitely resulted in some incredibly lovely cards! Here are a few that especially caught our fancy this time:

...proves that black and white are anything but boring with her simple and beautiful stamped and masked creation. (We *love* that cool hand drawn frame, as well!)

...created a peaceful holiday scene that is taken to the next level (or possibly the level after that!) by Expert Level coloring!

...has created a sweet, whimsical, quirky card we are entirely smitten with: a Moose driving home for a peaceful Christmas in his purple convertible. We vote YES to that! :) :) :)

We'll be back at midnight with a brand new prompt, for which you'll have more than eight crazy nights to participate! ;)

Goodwill to Men

We're still singing about PEACE at Jingle Belles this week ... remember, you can use the word, the symbol or just create something that says *PEACE* to you.

Lauren says, "The peaceful scene I've used as a focal point is a beautiful journal card from the "Snow and the City" collection by an Italian paper company called Ciao Bella, which i got at my lss Paper Anthology last December. The background panel- with the birch trees- is actually the cover from a holiday catalog! Apart from that, I added a couple of skinny white mats, a diecut sentiment, part of a doily and three glittery copper snowflakes. Et voila, La Paix!"

Stephanie says, "This prompt was the perfect week to recycle this laser cut forest.  I mounted it with foam tape on a sky blue background and then added my Impression Obsession Die Cut Cardinals and a vintage wood block PEACEful sentiment from A Muse."

So if you haven't entered already, what are you waiting for? It is time to link up your Christmas and other holiday cards for September. Below you will find a refresher of the details for this challenge.

Please remember that this is a CARDS ONLY link up. While we've had some lovely tag entries, ornaments and other creative projects in the past, we've sadly had to disqualify them.

Challenge #57

Optional Twist: Kraft Paper

If you want the chance to win this month's featured paper pack, be sure to use KRAFT PAPER in your card design.

Keep in mind though, that you don't need to follow the twist to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month or for a chance to win THREE images from the Pattie's Creations store. You simply need to follow the twist if you'd like a chance to win this month's featured digital paper pack, A Krafty Christmas.

If you are new to this unique challenge, you can find out the impetus behind why I started it under the 'Introductions' tab. As this is a different kind of link up where we have both an Anything Goes Christmas or other December Holiday option AND an optional twist to follow, be sure to read all the details and rules you need to know in order to participate, by checking out the 'Challenge Details' tab (both tabs located at the top of the blog). I have provided a summary of the most important rules in the right sidebar.

If you would like a say in determining which digital paper will be offered to those who link up a minimum of two cards this month, be sure to vote in our poll. Click HERE to head there now.

Challenge #56 Winner Announcement

Hello to all our Christmas crafting friends!  Happy Friday the 13th! Hopefully you all have an uneventful day. I used to dread this day when it came up as it seemed every year something unpleasant would happen. Of course it just might have been a self-fulfilling prophecy too! ;)  I'm crossing my fingers that the rest of day will go as smoothly as the first part has.

I'm popping in to announce the winners and our top three Stocking Stuffers from Challenge #56. Sorry we're posting a bit later than usual. One of our team members who is picking her favourite Stocking Stuffer this month was in the path of Hurricane Dorian and she had more important things on her mind to deal with.

We had 49 entries in our August challenge and it is time to get on with the finding out who our winners are.

Are you one of those lucky peeps?! Let's find out!

Ann-Marie, you are the winner of a $10.00 gift voucher to the Oddball Art store, our guest sponsor for August (chosen by random.org based on all eligible entries).

Ann-Marie, please send an email to the_12_moc_linkup {at} outlook {dot} com (or click HERE to bring the address up in your email program), with the subject, "12MoC Challenge #56 WINNER" to make arrangements to receive your prize. Please note that it may take me a while to get back to you. Thank you for your patience. In the interim, please grab a copy of the winner badge below for your blog.

Next, it is time to get on with showcasing the top three. With so many wonderful entries to choose from, it is always such a difficult task for the design team. For Challenge #56, Margaret, Marji and Lisa (on behalf of Pat who is in Germany right now), are presenting their favourite cards. So, without further ado, here are the Stocking Stuffers for August:

Congrats to our top three Stocking Stuffers! Shamita, Marie and Linda, please grab a copy of the badge below for your blog.

Everyone who links up two cards each month is eligible to receive a free digital paper. Papers from last month have now been sent out. If you were expecting one but haven't received it yet, please leave me a comment and I'll look into it for you.

The individuals who linked up a minimum of two cards each during the month of AUGUST qualifying them to receive the digital paper from that month, will receive the Snowy Bokeh Tree Bg in Blue paper which received the majority of the votes. Interestingly, there were 40 votes this month. The number of people voting is usually much lower so it was nice to see so many more people expressing their opinion. I have included the watermark of the paper, below...

To all of you who linked up during August, thanks ever so much! We are so happy to have all of you with us and hope that you'll continue to link up your holiday cards as you continue your stash for 2019!!! Papers will be sent to the email address that qualifying participants used when they added their cards to the Link Up, as soon as I can manage!

As always, we are going to have a random draw from all the entries and give out a set of six digital papers to one lucky individual. The papers are all made so why not have an extra prize! Here is the watermark for the full set...

The winner of the
Snowy Bokeh Tree Backgrounds Mini Kit
from Challenge #56 is
(chosen by miniwebtool.com based on all eligible entries)

Stef, please send an email to the_12_moc_linkup {at} outlook {dot} com (or click HERE to bring the address up in your email program), with the subject, "12MoC Challenge #56 PAPER KIT WINNER" to make arrangements to receive your prize.

Well folks, that is it for today. While you are here, please be sure to check out the details for our current challenge going on now (if you haven't already), with the Optional Twist this month of "Kraft Paper". There is just over two weeks to go and you can find out all the details along with the link up, by clicking HERE. Please join us again on September 15th when we'll be back with the midway, and then again on October 1st when we'll be back with a new challenge!

Until next time,

PEACE on Earth

Description:This week at Jingle Belles we're all about PEACE ... we're creating cards that feature the Peace Symbol, the word Peace, or a scene that evokes peace for you.

Here's how we were inspired:

Stephanie says, "My peace symbol stencil was in a book of protest stencils that I recently purchased at a Museum Exhibit of the Velvet Revolution.  I used three colors of Distress Oxide Ink and my magical stenciling brushes.  I added some punched branches and a peace flower before stamping my Wordsworth Square Peace wood block stamp."

Lauren says, "I've been participating in "30 days of gel printing" on Instagram and one of this week's prompts was pigment inks. Since I'd never used pigment inks with my gel plate, I went looking for a video and found this absolute treasure from Birgit Koopsen and became completely hooked. So when I realized I had the PERFECT Avery Elle stamp set and all it needed was an interesting but flat background, I went to town! To finish off I added a couple of mats and a beautiful stacked snowflake held on with an Eyelet Outlet Snowflake Brad."

Link your PEACE-full cards here by 6pm (EST) on Wednesday, September 25th. Keyword for galleries and Flickr is JB:19:19.

3 French Hens

We loved seeing the creative ways you created with the 12 Days of Christmas ... here are Three of the shining French Hens of the group.

framed these adorable images ... we love how both 1 & 2 are doing hand crafts, while 3 is all about the wine and bread (my kind of hen).  The background is lovely and the coloring is perfection.

created the perfect little scene for her three french hens ... don't they look like they're having a conversation about what Santa is going to bring them?

colored these two lovely turtle doves ... we loved the texty and snowy background papers.

And the winner of our prize giveaway is

E-mail SmilynStef at aol dot com and I'll get your goodies in the mail.

We'll see you at midnight where we'll all be saying *Serenity Now*.

My True Love Gave to Me ...

This week we're still making holiday cards that features a numeral (like 25) or that features one of the elements from the song The 12 Days of Christmas, so break out those...

  • Twelve Drummers Drumming
  • Eleven Pipers Piping
  • Ten Lords a Leaping
  • Nine Ladies Dancing
  • Eight Maids a Milking
  • Seven Swans a Swimming
  • Six Geese a Laying
  • Five Golden Rings
  • Four Calling Birds
  • Three French Hens
  • Two Turtle Doves
  • and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

Here is how we were inspired:

Stephanie says, "I had a sheet of these fun Crate Paper December Calendars, so I went with the numbers this week. I added several other elements from the same Crate Paper Collection on top of a coordinating Pink Paint Chip. I finished with some epoxy snowmen & dots, glittery stars, and a sentiment that makes a second reference to December 25th."

Lauren says, "I elected to go with numerals again, in the form of a fun date sticker and a super cute Jenni Bowlin Holiday Bingo Card in digital/printable version. I've owned the kit for yeaaaaaars and still use it constantly; my favorite part is that I can scale and print them to literally any size I need. In addition, I've got some ancient Echo Park patterned paper, various stickers, a couple of borders, twine, round brads... it's all here, in nice flat, mailable form. Gotta love that, right?"

Remember to link your cards up by Wednesday at 6pm EST for a chance to win the fun prize.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/pattiescreations
I am an Internet Technology Professional and an Artist. I always dreamed of being an artist, but I found out quickly that I needed another field to support my family so I pursued a Degree in Information Technology. I love to use Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks to enhance my work. I just recently started selling my very own digital images and I am so excited to be here sponsoring this Challenge.

I created a character called Pattieboop and her cat named Allie. I have had so much fun coming up with different images so I also created a site to sell them. You can go to my store to find out more about Pattieboop & Allie. I know you will just love them when you see them.
